Effect of Cultivar and Planting Date on Soybean Response to Dicamba

چکیده
Off-target movement of dicamba has been blamed for damaging millions hectares soybean in the United States since registration herbicide use dicamba-resistant cotton and soybean. Understanding effect a low dose on non-dicamba-resistant across multiple cultivars, growth stages, planting dates could help producers better understand implication current management practices yield loss from fields where are grown. A field experiment was conducted 2019 Fayetteville Stuttgart, Arkansas, to evaluate impact date response dicamba. The hypothesis that injury will differ depending application timing. Additionally, an 2018 assess whether cultivars sensitivity cultivar genetic differences allow differential tolerance In experiment, “Eagle DrewSoy” identified as having enhanced based reduced (47% at R1 26% V3) over both experimental years locations. Soybean height this affected only by after mid-June resulted yields injury. Dicamba exposure July (61% reduction nontreated) more severely when compared dicamba-treated plots other (94% average relative among dates), indicating negative effects increasingly deleterious planted later growing season. Maximum manifestation generally delayed dates, may have metabolized slowly.

Planting Date and Soybean Cultivar Maturity Group Affect Population Dynamics of Heterodera glycines, and All Affect Yield of Soybean.
Five soybean cultivars, one each from Maturity Groups (MG) III, IV, V, VI, and VII, all susceptible to Heterodera glycines, were planted in H. glycines-infested soil in April, May, June, and July at multiple locations in Arkansas and Missouri. The purpose of the study was to determine whether planting early reduces yield losses due to H. glycines. The population levels of cysts, eggs, and secon...
متن کاملEffect of Planting Date on Population Densities of Hoplolaimus columbus and Yield of Soybean.
During the 1991 and 1992 soybean growing seasons, field plots were established in South Carolina to study the effect of planting date on at-planting nematode densities and subsequent yield losses caused by Hoplolaimus columbus. The susceptible and intolerant soybean cv. Braxton was planted on five dates from to May to 28 June in 1991 and from 12 May to 28 June in 1992. Nematodes were recovered ...

Environ.Entomol.21(2):264-268(1992) ABSTRACT Soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr., resistance to insects has been shown to vary with planting date and leaf age. This study determined effects soybean genotype, planting date, and leaf age had on feeding behavior of com earworm, Helicoverpa zea (Boddie). Soybean genotypes 'Cobb' (susceptible) and 'GatIR81-296' (resistant) were planted early (29May) and...

Bragg soybeans were planted in nematicide-treated and nontreated plots on 15 May, 15 June, 1 July, and 15 July in 1980 and 1981 to determine the influence of planting date on damage caused by H. glycines. Although earlier studies showed the nematode was sensitive to high soil temperatures (> 34 C), late planting did not reduce damage caused by the nematode. Yields from plots treated with 1, 2-d...
